Koloa Plantation Days in Koloa

Koloa Plantation Days is a 10-day community festival held every July in Koloa and Poipu on Kauai's south shore, marking the 1835 founding of Koloa Plantation, Hawaii's first sugar plantation. Organized largely by volunteers since growing out of the sugar industry's 1985 sesquicentennial celebrations, it now spans dozens of events from a heritage craft fair to a historic parade.

Koloa Plantation Days traces its roots to 1985, when Kauai marked the sesquicentennial, the 150th anniversary, of Koloa Plantation's founding in 1835, the first sugar plantation established anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands.
