Las Cruces International Film Festival in Las Cruces
The Las Cruces International Film Festival is an annual independent film festival held each spring in Las Cruces, New Mexico, closely tied to New Mexico State University. Now in its second decade, with an eleventh edition held in April 2026 and a twelfth already announced for April 2027, it brings red-carpet screenings, workshops, industry panels, and celebrity guest appearances to town over several days, showcasing regional, national, and international independent cinema.
Southern New Mexico's relationship with film festivals began in Alamogordo in March 2008, when former Alamogordo Film Liaison Joan Griggs, Otero County Economic Development Director Ed Carr, and Kathleen Curtis launched the White Sands International Film Festival specifically to showcase and support Hispanic and New Mexican filmmakers.
