Kentucky State Fair in Louisville

The Kentucky State Fair is the official state fair of Kentucky, held each August at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. More than 600,000 fairgoers attend the eleven-day event across 520 acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits, including livestock competitions, quilt-making and homebrew contests, midway rides, and the World's Championship Horse Show.

The Kentucky State Fair traces its origin to 1816, organized by Fayette County farmer Colonel Lewis Sanders just five years after the first state fair in the United States was held in Massachusetts, making it one of the earliest state fair traditions in the country despite not becoming an officially designated state fair until 1902.
