Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden
Held in Lynden, Washington since 1909, the Northwest Washington Fair is a ten-day August tradition that grew from a Lynden merchants' street fair into a major regional agricultural fair drawing roughly 200,000 visitors. Livestock and produce exhibits, a carnival midway, a rodeo, a demolition derby and grandstand concerts anchor the event on its longtime Lynden fairgrounds.
The Northwest Washington Fair began modestly, as a street fair organized by Lynden merchants on October 16, 1909, meant to showcase the produce and goods of the fertile Nooksack Valley.
