Willy Street Fair in Madison
Willy Street Fair is a free two-day street festival on Madison, Wisconsin's Williamson Street, held each September. Now in its late forties as an annual event, the fair fills the 800-1000 blocks with five stages of live music, roughly 150 art and food vendors, a Sunday parade led by the Bubblemobile, and family activities, raising funds for the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center and Common Wealth Development.
Williamson Street, known to Madison locals simply as Willy Street, has carried a reputation as one of the city's most independent and community-oriented neighborhoods since well before the street fair that now bears its name became a fixture of the local calendar.
