Cooper Young Festival in Memphis
The Cooper-Young Festival is a one-day outdoor arts, crafts, and music festival held every September in the Cooper-Young Historic District of Midtown Memphis, Tennessee. Hosted by the Cooper-Young Business Association, it began in the late 1980s and now draws roughly 130,000 attendees and more than 400 artisan vendors from around the country to the neighborhood's tree-lined streets.
The Cooper-Young Festival began as a modest street fair organized by merchants and residents of a Midtown Memphis neighborhood that, by the late twentieth century, had cycled through decline and a slow, resident-driven revival.
