Minneapolis Monarch Festival in Minneapolis
Minneapolis Monarch Festival gathers hands-on art activities, native plant sales, and dance and music performances around Lake Nokomis Community Center. Children make butterfly-themed crafts while families browse plants meant to support pollinator habitat at home. The bilingual festival ties Minnesota's monarch population directly to its migration all the way to Mexico.
You come around the east side of Lake Nokomis and the whole day feels light on its feet: music carries across the grass, orange-and-black wings flicker nearby, and families drift between tents with snacks, flowers, and paper butterflies drying in the sun.
