Tinglewood Festival in Montevallo
Montevallo's free Tinglewood Festival grew from Orr Park's celebrated tree carvings. Woodcarvers demonstrate with hand tools and chainsaws, a whittling contest invites close technique, and artists, classic cars, restored tractors, food and children's activity broaden the one-day event. The recurring practices—chainsaw and hand-carving demonstrations, whittling contest, and walk among Tim Tingle’s permanent tree carvings—tie the public program to the place and the people who sustain it.
A chainsaw bites into wood at Orr Park while more than fifty carved tree faces, animals and figures by Tim Tingle watch from the path beside Shoal Creek.
