Arkansas Folk Festival in Mountain View

First held in April 1963, the Arkansas Folk Festival was created by Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service employees as a craft fair to support local artisans and the depressed regional economy, with musician Jimmy Driftwood directing its music program. The festival helped establish Mountain View's identity as the Folk Music Capital of the World and continues each April with music, crafts, and dance.
