Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival in Murrells Inlet

The Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival is a juried fine arts and crafts show held each September within the grounds of Atalaya, the Moorish Revival former winter home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, inside Huntington Beach State Park. Now in its sixth decade, the three-day festival brings more than one hundred selected artisans, live music, and a dedicated food court to the National Historic Landmark's courtyard.

Atalaya began in 1931 not as a festival site but as a private winter residence, built during the depths of the Great Depression by philanthropist Archer Huntington and his wife, sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington.
