Lakeshore Art Festival in Muskegon
The Lakeshore Art Festival traces to Muskegon Art in the Park, a juried show that began at Hackley Park in 1961. The Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce relaunched it as the Lakeshore Art Festival in 2013, and the City of Muskegon now runs the event, drawing roughly 50,000 visitors to more than 300 fine art and craft exhibitors in downtown Muskegon, Michigan each year.
Downtown Muskegon, Michigan has hosted some form of large outdoor art show since 1961, when Hackley Park became the center of Muskegon Art in the Park, a juried craft and fine art show that ran for more than five decades before evolving into its current form.
