League of NH Craftsmen's Fair in Newbury
The League of NH Craftsmen's Fair at Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury is the oldest continuous craft fair in the United States, running since 1933. The nine-day August event draws more than 20,000 visitors annually to browse work from more than 200 juried craftsmen working in pottery, fiber, woodworking, blacksmithing, and other traditional and contemporary fine craft mediums.
In 1933, in the depths of the Great Depression, a group of New Hampshire craftspeople organized a fair to sell and showcase their work.
