Medieval Fair of Norman in Norman
The Medieval Fair of Norman is a free, three-day spring festival held at Reaves Park in Norman, Oklahoma, recreating a medieval marketplace with costumed performers, craft vendors, and themed food and drink. Started in 1977 by University of Oklahoma English department students, it is nearing its fiftieth year and now draws large crowds to a festival still organized through the university's outreach programs.
The Medieval Fair of Norman began in 1977 as a class project within the University of Oklahoma's English department, when students staged scenes and demonstrations related to medieval literature on the school's South Oval.
