Wickford Art Festival in North Kingstown
The Wickford Art Festival is an annual outdoor juried art festival held in the historic waterfront village of Wickford, part of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, described on Rhode Island's own state reference materials as the site of an annual international art festival. Artists display and sell work along Wickford's colonial-era streets each summer.
Wickford, a small village within the town of North Kingstown on Rhode Island's western Narragansett Bay shore, retains one of the best-preserved collections of colonial and federal-period architecture in New England, having largely avoided the industrial development and modernization that transformed many other Rhode Island waterfront communities during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
