Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival in Oak Bluffs
The Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF) is a nine-day, Oscar-qualifying film festival produced by Run&Shoot Filmworks each August in Oak Bluffs. Now in its 24th year in 2026, it screens narrative features, documentaries, and shorts at the MV Performing Arts Center, paired with filmmaker panels, industry conversations, and a companion C-Suite Summit for entertainment executives.
The Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival grew from a single idea, that the island's long history as a summer gathering place for Black professionals, artists, and families could support a film festival built specifically around Black storytelling.
