Cinco de Mayo Omaha in Omaha
Cinco de Mayo Omaha is South Omaha's largest Latino festival, marking 106 consecutive years in 2026 and tracing back to a 1920 gathering called Fiestas Patrias Mexicanas. The multi-day celebration centers on a two-mile parade down South 24th Street, alongside live music, mariachi mass, cultural programming, and community engagement drawing Latino residents from across the Midwest.
South Omaha's Latino community has hosted Mexican cultural festivals for more than a century, tracing back to 1920, when the city's first such gathering, called Fiestas Patrias Mexicanas, drew around 500 people to 24th and M streets for an afternoon of poetry, food, and music.
