Sawdust Days in Oshkosh
Sawdust Days is a community festival held at Menominee Park in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, typically over the Fourth of July period. Organized historically by local volunteer civic groups, it brings carnival rides, live music, food booths, and family entertainment to the lakeside park, drawing on Oshkosh's identity as a lumber and lake-industry city along Lake Winnebago.
Oshkosh built much of its nineteenth-century economy on the lumber industry, with sawmills lining the Fox River and the shores of Lake Winnebago processing timber floated down from Wisconsin's northern forests.
