Fiesta of Five Flags in Pensacola
Fiesta of Five Flags is a ten-day heritage celebration held across the first two weeks of June in Pensacola, Florida, honoring the city's identity as the 'City of Five Flags.' Staged annually since 1949, it commemorates the 1559 arrival of Spanish conquistador Don Tristan de Luna, whose expedition marked the first European settlement attempt in what became the United States. The festival centers on Seville Quarter with parades, live music, and a reenacted de Luna landing.
Its city-history identity and parade/event structure make it a strong Panhandle civic row.
