The Portland Rose Festival fills June with three parades, Fleet Week ship visits, and waterfront carnival attractions along Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Its centerpiece, the Grand Floral Parade, is the second-largest all-floral parade in the United States and the largest single-day spectator event in Oregon, drawing more than 500,000 people. Roots trace to an 1888 backyard rose show hosted by Portland Rose Society founder Georgiana Pittock.
