Provincetown Carnival in Provincetown
Provincetown Carnival is the town's original summer celebration, a week-long LGBTQ+ festival created by the Provincetown Business Guild in 1978. Each August it fills Commercial Street with themed parties, costume contests, and the legendary Carnival parade, drawing tens of thousands of visitors to Cape Cod's tip for a week built around community, self-expression, and creativity.
Provincetown Carnival began in 1978, created by the Provincetown Business Guild as a way to stretch the town's tourist season past the traditional peak of July.
