Richmond Greek Festival in Richmond
The Richmond Greek Festival, hosted since 1976 by Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, is a free multi-day celebration of Greek food, music, and dance held each spring. Volunteers spend months preparing handmade dishes including souvlaki, moussaka, tiropita, and baklava, curing tens of thousands of shish kebabs in the days before the festival opens.
The Richmond Greek Festival began in 1976 as a benchmark event for Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, part of the congregation's broader effort to share Greek culture and Orthodox tradition with the wider Richmond community rather than keeping either confined within the church's own walls.
