Rochester International Film Festival in Rochester
The Rochester International Film Festival is a short-film and independent-film festival held each spring at Pop's Art Theater in Rochester, Minnesota. First held in 1959, it is one of the oldest film festivals in the United States, now presented by the volunteer-run Rochester International Film Group, which screens international and Minnesota-made narrative and documentary films over a long weekend.
Most American film festivals trace their roots to the independent-film boom of the 1980s and 1990s.
