Salem Fair in Salem
Salem Fair is a twelve-day event each July and early August at the Salem Civic Center Complex in Salem, Virginia, in the Roanoke Valley. Billed as the largest free fair in Virginia, it charges no general admission while offering carnival rides and games, live music and performances, commercial exhibits, a petting zoo, and a Fourth of July fireworks display.
Salem, Virginia, an independent city within the Roanoke Valley in southwestern Virginia, built its modern civic identity in part around the Salem Civic Center Complex, a multi-purpose venue developed to host large-scale community events.
