Salem Film Fest in Salem

Salem Film Fest is an independent documentary film festival held each spring in Salem, Massachusetts, running since 2007 and now the largest documentary festival in the state. Organized mostly by volunteers through the nonprofit Salem Community Arts Center, the 2026 edition ran March 26-29 as its 19th annual gathering, screening features and shorts with filmmaker Q&As, parties, and free community events across downtown Salem venues.

Salem Film Fest launched in 2007 as a small independent documentary showcase on Boston's North Shore and has grown into the largest documentary film festival in Massachusetts.
