FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention in Salt Lake City

FanX Salt Lake, formerly known as Salt Lake Comic Con, is an annual multi-genre pop culture convention held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Founded by Dan Farr and Bryan Brandenburg, the first event took place September 5 through 7, 2013, and drew more than 70,000 attendees; the 2026 edition is scheduled for September 24. Governor's Office of Economic Development data has ranked it Utah's most attended convention.

FanX's origin story is unusually public for a fan convention: after its first event drew over 70,000 people and a companion spring event, Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience, drew more than 100,000 in 2014, San Diego Comic-Con sent organizers a cease-and-desist letter that year over use of the term Comic Con, a dispute that eventually contributed to the event rebranding as FanX Salt Lake
