Living Traditions Festival in Salt Lake City
Living Traditions Festival is a free three-day multicultural folk arts festival produced by the Salt Lake City Arts Council with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, held each May at Salt Lake City's Civic Center. Now marking its 40th year in 2026, the festival presents traditional music, dance, crafts, and foodways from dozens of Utah's cultural communities on outdoor stages and vendor rows across the Civic Center grounds downtown.
Living Traditions Festival began in the mid-1980s as an effort by the Salt Lake City Arts Council, working with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, to give the state's smaller cultural and immigrant communities a public platform alongside the city's larger civic celebrations.
