Utah Greek Festival in Salt Lake City
The Salt Lake City Greek Festival is hosted by Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake, at 279 South 300 West downtown. The 2026 festival marked its 50th anniversary, running September 11 through 13 with discounted partner hotel rates and expanded programming. Visitors sample dishes like gyros, souvlaki, slow-roasted lamb, baklava, and loukoumades while watching live Greek music and traditional folk dancing in period costume.
The Salt Lake City Greek Festival grew directly out of the history of Holy Trinity Cathedral, the seat of the Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake, whose congregation descends from Greek immigrants who began arriving in Utah more than a century ago to work in the region's mines and railroads before building businesses and eventually a permanent church downtown.
