San Diego International Film Festival in San Diego
Founded in 2001 by event planner Robin Laatz and filmmaker Karl Kozak, the San Diego International Film Festival has grown from a regional showcase into a fall event held across the Gaslamp Quarter, La Jolla, and Balboa Park. Produced by the nonprofit San Diego Film Foundation, it has been named the city's best film festival for eight consecutive years by local press.
It adds a significant film-literature anchor to Southern California outside Los Angeles.
