Every third weekend of May, downtown Sandpoint fills with hundreds of vintage cars for Lost in the 50s, a nostalgia festival built around a Friday-evening classic car parade and a Saturday street show. Started roughly 39 years ago by Carolyn Gleason and a small group of volunteers as a Festival at Sandpoint fundraiser, it now draws poodle skirts, leather jackets, and rows of hot rods to the town's downtown streets.
