Santa Barbara International Film Festival in Santa Barbara
The Santa Barbara International Film Festival has run every February since 1986, when local arts advocate Richard E. B. Merrill founded it to spotlight independent films and emerging filmmakers. Now an eleven-day event anchored by the historic Arlington Theatre, it screens more than two hundred feature films and shorts alongside celebrity tributes and industry panels.
Its awards-season positioning and public tributes give it strong travel and film-culture value.
