The Seattle International Film Festival, known as SIFF, is an Oscar-qualifying film festival held annually since 1976, typically in late May and early June. One of the largest film festivals in the world, it screens a large program of predominantly independent and foreign films alongside a strong documentary lineup at venues across Seattle.

SIFF was founded in 1976 and has run every year since, becoming one of the largest film festivals in the world and one of the few in the United States qualifying eligible short films and documentaries for Academy Award consideration.
