Skaneateles Dickens Christmas transforms the Finger Lakes village of Skaneateles into a Charles Dickens-inspired scene each weekend between Thanksgiving and Christmas, with more than 60 costumed characters roaming the streets. Now in its fourth decade, the free event draws over 20,000 visitors to a village premised on Dickens visiting the town at Queen Victoria's request.
