Swedish Festival in Stromsburg

The Stromsburg Swedish Midsommar Festival has celebrated Swedish heritage in Nebraska's self-declared Swede Capital every third weekend of June since 1953. Traditional blue-and-yellow dress, folk dancing, Viking-life reenactments, a chicken barbecue, sword battles on the town square, and a Swedish Tractor Pull mark the three-day celebration.

Founded in 1870 by Swedish settlers, Stromsburg, Nebraska has spent more than a century building its identity around the heritage of the immigrants who established the town.
