Springtime Tallahassee in Tallahassee
Springtime Tallahassee is an annual heritage festival held on the last Saturday in March or first Saturday in April in Tallahassee, Florida, celebrating the city's history and status as state capital. It began in 1967 as a civic campaign to keep the capital in Tallahassee amid legislative pressure to relocate it southward. Today the event centers on a large parade with mechanical floats, historical krewes, and a downtown park festival known as Jubilee in the Park.
Its civic scale and long-running identity make it a strong North Florida row.
