Virginia Scottish Games in The Plains
The Virginia Scottish Games, held each Labor Day weekend at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia, is a large-scale Scottish heritage festival featuring Highland athletic competitions, massed pipe and drum bands, Highland dance, clan tents, and a British car and motorcycle show, now in its sixth decade under the Virginia Scottish Games Association.
The Virginia Scottish Games trace back more than five decades to a small gathering organized to preserve Highland games traditions among the Scottish diaspora in the Washington, D.C.
