Catoctin Colorfest in Thurmont
Catoctin Colorfest fills Thurmont Community Park with a juried craft show each fall, when white vendor tents spread beneath turning leaves and church and nonprofit groups run food stalls that double as fundraisers. Returning since 1963, the festival pairs handmade pottery, woodwork, textiles, and paintings with the kind of small-town food stands that make the weekend feel like a community reunion as much as a shopping trip.
You walk in with the smell of kettle corn and fallen leaves in the air, and the park is threaded with white tents, strollers, and people stopping short over carved bowls, blown glass, and thick wool scarves.
