Tucson International Mariachi Conference in Tucson
The Tucson International Mariachi Conference is the oldest continuously operating mariachi event in the United States, held every April since 1982. Over roughly five days, master musicians lead workshops in mariachi music and ballet folklorico for students of all ages, culminating in public concerts such as the Espectacular showcase, the Fiesta Garibaldi, and a traditional mariachi Mass at St. Augustine Cathedral.
Since 1982, the Tucson International Mariachi Conference has held the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating mariachi event in the United States, a run unbroken through more than four decades of changing music trends.
