Vail Film Festival in Vail
The Vail Film Festival is an independent film festival held annually in Vail, Colorado, since 2004. Founded by brothers Sean and Scott Cross and produced by the nonprofit Colorado Film Institute, it screens independent features and shorts, drawing filmmakers and audiences to the largest ski resort in the United States each winter.
When brothers Sean and Scott Cross founded the Vail Film Festival in 2004, they were building it inside the largest ski resort in the United States, a setting that immediately separated the event from festivals held in cities built specifically around the film industry.
