Virginia Beach Boardwalk Art Show in Virginia Beach
The Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show has run along the Virginia Beach oceanfront since 1956, growing out of a 1952 informal art sale that founded the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Now one of the longest-running art shows on the East Coast, the three-day juried event draws around 175 artists from across the country working in 13 fine art and craft mediums.
The Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show traces its origins to 1952, when a group of local artists organized an informal art sale to support a fellow artist in need, an act of community solidarity that led those same artists to formally found the Virginia Beach Art Association.
