Around the World Embassy Tour in Washington
The Around the World Embassy Tour is the single-day flagship event of Passport DC each May, when embassies along and near Massachusetts Avenue's Embassy Row open to the public in one coordinated Saturday. Visitors move door to door sampling performances, food, and cultural displays from participating missions worldwide, using a printed itinerary to plan a route through one of the city's most architecturally distinctive corridors.
Massachusetts Avenue Heights and the corridor known as Embassy Row were originally built as a showcase of Gilded Age wealth, lined with mansions commissioned by Washington's elite in the early 1900s.
