Awesome Con in Washington
Awesome Con is Washington's annual pop culture convention, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and one of the largest fan conventions on the East Coast. Since debuting in 2013 with about 7,000 attendees, the convention has grown to draw tens of thousands of fans for celebrity guest panels, comic and collectible vendors, cosplay, and programming spanning comics, film, television, and gaming.
When Awesome Con launched in 2013, comic and pop culture conventions were already well established on the West Coast and in cities like New York, but Washington had lacked an event of comparable scale.
