Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is a free, two-week celebration of living cultural heritage held on Washington, D.C.'s National Mall around the Fourth of July, produced by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage since the festival launched in 1967. It draws more than a million visitors annually to programs of music, dance, crafts, cooking demonstrations, and storytelling organized around featured nations, regions, or themes.
