Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis

Held on its permanent West Allis, Wisconsin grounds since 1892, the Wisconsin State Fair is an eleven-day early-August tradition famous above all for its cream puffs, first sold in 1924 and now consumed by the hundreds of thousands each run. Livestock competitions, a midway, grandstand concerts and hundreds of food vendors fill the 200-acre fairgrounds each summer.

Wisconsin's state fair predates its current home by decades, having moved among several host cities before organizers settled the event permanently in West Allis, near Milwaukee, with the first fair on the present grounds held in 1892.
