The Encuentro con el Patriarca is a four-day horseback pilgrimage in Paysandu, Uruguay, in which over 7,000 riders from 350 mounted groups travel roughly 100 kilometers across seven localities to pay homage to independence hero Jose Gervasio Artigas at the Meseta de Artigas.
