Atlas Bayrami Margilan in Margilan
Atlas Bayrami, the International Traditional Textile Festival, has been held in Margilan every two years since 2015, celebrating the city's centuries-old atlas and adras ikat silk weaving traditions. The sixth edition ran September 19 to 21, 2024, drawing textile artisans, researchers, and craft organizations from around the world to the Fergana Valley.
Margilan, a city in Uzbekistan's Fergana Valley, has produced silk since at least the tenth century, positioned along Silk Road trade routes that once carried its fabrics from Central Asia toward markets in China and beyond.
