Festival de Teatro de Oriente

The Festival Internacional de Teatro de Oriente is a three-decades-old Venezuelan theater festival based in the country's eastern region, with subsedes in Puerto La Cruz, Cumana, Cantaura, and El Tigre in Anzoategui and Sucre states, hosting national theater groups such as Teatro Bengala, Grupo Actoral 80, and the Universidad de Oriente's Teatro Universitario.

For more than three decades, Venezuela's eastern states have sustained one of the country's longest-running theater institutions, the Festival Internacional de Teatro de Oriente, an event that press coverage has tracked through editions numbered as high as its thirty-third, evidence of a remarkable continuity given how many Venezuelan cultural institutions have struggled to maintain annual programming through recent economic upheaval.
