Maracaibo Elige la Gaita del Ano is Zulia state's flagship gaita music competition, reactivated by the municipality after more than fifteen years of absence, with its 2025 edition held November 22 at the Universidad Rafael Urdaneta and featuring 170 gaiteros and 20 finalist songs, alongside a separate youth-focused gaita festival for children.
