Lusaka International Film and Music Festival in Lusaka

The Lusaka International Film and Music Festival, founded by Charity Maruta, is an annual cinema and music showcase historically screened at Fresh View Cinemas in Lusaka. Its 2016 fifth edition partnered with the Chinese Embassy to screen Zhang Yimou's House of Flying Daggers, Dragon Blade and Farewell My Concubine alongside Zambian programming.

Charity Maruta founded the Lusaka International Film and Music Festival with a specific ambition: to bring foreign films to Zambian audiences and, through that exposure, help local viewers better understand and interact with the wider world while inspiring new themes and perspectives among Zambian filmmakers and other creative industry professionals.
