The story

Lusaka July in Lusaka

Lusaka July is Zambia's leading fashion and polo event, founded by sisters Monde Nyambe and Chishimba Nyambe of PR Girl Media and dubbed the country's answer to a Met Gala. Held at the Lusaka Polo Club on the city's showgrounds, it pairs a polo match with a themed fashion showcase for a pan-African audience.

Lusaka July began as an idea from sisters Monde Nyambe and Chishimba Nyambe, managing partners of PR Girl Media, who set out to build an event purely for fashion and polo enthusiasts seeking a premium, curated experience in Zambia.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Each edition runs on a designed theme, the 2023 show was A Purple Empire of Royals, that attendees are expected to interpret through their own outfits, turning the crowd itself into part of the spectacle rather than passive onlookers

02

The mystery stays covered

By its eighth year the event had drawn fashion figures and influencers from more than fifteen African countries with a combined online following above fifty million, including South African designer Laduma of Maxhosa Africa, alongside corporate partners such as Zambian Breweries, Trade Kings Group's Big Tree Beverages, Manda Hill and Zamtel, positioning the event as much as tourism marketing as fashion showcase
