Victoria Falls Carnival in Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls Carnival refers to a street carnival held in the tourist town of Victoria Falls, in the same lineage as Zimbabwe's government-backed international carnival concept that was launched in Harare in the early 2010s and has, in various years, been hosted in different Zimbabwean cities including Victoria Falls.
Zimbabwe's tourism authorities launched an international-style carnival, built around a Rio de Janeiro-inspired street parade of costumed troupes, music and dance, in Harare in the early 2010s, explicitly as a tourism-promotion tool rather than an event with roots in indigenous ceremony.
